An Overdued Introduction
(unfinalized end to an overdued introduction to an insanity)
___________ooOoo___________
oo(O)oo
EVERYTHING, must begin with something happening somewhere at/or/during a period of time to some one which started with the smallest to the largest of events which placed in specific moments thus developing into a sequence that lead to the thing that happened to the person at that place at that particular time or period.
It's the law of the mortal world, the world of causal and effect.
But, although it is as twistedly straightforward as it seemed, there's a twist - there would always be a twist.
Sometimes, the thing that happened to that some one in that place at/or/during that period of time in that sequence which is pre set or even perceived as pre ordained leading to another set of sequence that is preferable, would out of a sudden, develops in to one that is entirely undesirable.
Yet then again, it might turn in to a desirable outcome even though the thing that happened to that some one in that place at/or/during that period of time in that sequence which is pre set or even perceived as pre ordained leading to another set of sequence that is preferable, turn to the opposite.
Interestingly, all the sequence of events and all the twist at the end though they seem to be monotonous in nature, one would realize (and often too late) that those occurrences and twists are in essence a monolith.
Then again, surprisingly, all the sequence of events and all the twist at the end though they seem to be a monolith in nature, one would realize (and, again, often too late) that those occurrences and twists are in essence a monotonous.
Furthermore confusingly clear, and, clearly confusing, though all of it seem like one-flat-layer of events, occurrences and twists, they are multitude of interconnecting sequence of (again), events, occurrences and twists.
Rather surprisingly expected, and, unexpectedly surprising, all are connected trough that thing that happened to that some one at/or/during period of time at place.
The best example to explain it would be quit similar and in the same time quit different than a long-half-built-but usable highway.
The beginning, the route and the end of the journey from one point to another would resemble the thing that happened and where it happened.
The length and time take to travel trough it would be the moment or period of time it occurred.
The smoothness, bumps, potholes, signs, stops, rest areas, detours and what not encountered during the journey are the sequence of events, occurrences and twists.
The maneuvering needed or taken would be the 'how' part of everything.
The best part of all is, it makes one hell of a tale to tell.
Remember the twists? What might seem dull, uninteresting and dumb for some might not be the same for the others - (and not to forget before god knows who should start to mention) vice versa.
Hence, the story of The Demon, Prince of Agnus is told.
Take it as an advice.
Throw it away as if it is a maggot ridden corpse of mice.
Laugh at it as if it is the tales of a court jester in a tryst.
Cry with it as if one is looking at a lover whose heart has been diced.
It is your choice...
THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL STARTED
LIFE, as some great and lesser than great poets, philosophers, Zen and religious master would describe is a big (this is the part where most people would put the F word to describe the intensity of the matter being said or discussed) a great big stage.
Without the stage, there would never be a play.
Now the best part about stage is - it can be from anywhere to some where that would eventually leaded to nowhere.
It can be in one of those great big halls or even behind a fish monger stall. Heck, it could even be under the bed of the midnight lady whom one's lonely papa frequently visits.
Every place thinkable and not could be made and IS a stage.
Coming back to the Demon, his stage is a great big world known as Mine.
A world so big, that it would take the Gods (if there is more that one) more than a life time to travel.
Hehehehe...nope that's not true. Just pulling your leg.
The world where the Demon roams is no larger and no grander than our own.
And like ours, there's quit of number of races living in it too.
But, in his travels, only few will be met.
Talking about the races though there are multitudes of type of them, they all belong to a three main group - the whites, the blacks and the grey.
The Whites, the higher end of this world control, administer, decide and dictate almost every single thing - be it big or small in this world.
You don't say anything other than what the Whites says.
You don't eat other than what the Whites eat.
You don't wear other than what the Whites wear.
You don't believe other that what the Whites believe.
You don't be other than the Whites.
Now the ones that do other than what the Whites do, they are called the Blacks.
And these Blacks, they are on the very opposite place in life from the Whites. Pariahs, is what the Whites called them.
That leaves us with the Greys - the unwanted of both sides. They are welcome in neither any of the races houses.
Being the unwanted ones, make them long for acceptance up to the point they would almost anything.
But, confused be you not, that the place where the Greys wanted to be is not in the comfort of these two.
They longed to sleep in beds of earth, blanketed by the midnight stars and soothe by the evening winds.
They longed to walk on pavements of coarse cold coal that would burn their big brown soles and enticed by the midday sun.
They longed to be laid in dug hole, cloth in white linens, rested in coarse caskets, blanketed by heavy rough soils.
All for a chance to rest by the foot of the Forgotten One - Man's Path Master Dealer.
Utopia and El-Dorado, perceived both the Whites and Blacks. - a place that existed only in the mind of the lost.
Lord Demon - Prince of the Agnus, is neither one of those three, he is an outcast.
No place is complete without a deity.
This world where the Demon is, have that -infect, there's three of them.
To the Whites, the deity is known as Lucre - an all powerful being whom image is carried by each and every single one of the Whites in the backside pockets of their beautiful buttocks and wrapping their female’s breasts.
To the Blacks, the deity is known Mitra Albus Lupinus - an all powerful being who is materialized by the clean white linens that the Blacks wrap on their hearts but never in their heart's.
To the Greys, the deity is only known as the Master - a being that is diminished only by man's lust.
Due to the glaring difference in believes and way of life, peace in Mine is nothing but superficial.
Every one, be it Whites, Blacks and Greys - trudge through life with a smile on their face and a dagger hidden behind them.
Every one is trustworthily disappointing.
To find the ones that could be trusted is like looking for a needle in a hay stack.
There is a price for everything, and the most expensive of all are love, friendship and kin - be it family or not...
Everything in MINE has its price, nothing is for free, either you are the one who is buying, or selling or being trade bartered it. That is the Law of Mine.
The Whites, the Blacks and even among the pariah Greys, they live in a world that is no different than a humongous market.
In this huge market place, either you are the seller, the buyer or the trade. You can be traded for almost every thinkable and unthinkable thing.
The most valuable of all commodities is your soul - that is if you have any.
The least valuable of all commodities is also your soul.
Wealth in this land is gauge by the kind of life you lead.
To the Whites, it’s the painful pleasures.
To the Blacks, it’s the heavenly hell.
To the Greys, it’s both.
So, dear listeners and readers (is there any?) of the Demon Prince's tale, if you wish or longed or wanted to live in the MINE (pronounced as MI NAY), make sure that you choose in which tribe you want to be.
Make sure you know who you deity is, and what does that all powerful being ask of you. What should you sacrifice to gain that deity’s favor?
Do not forget to have at least the smallest of item to trade and make sure that you know how and with whom you should and want to trade.
Because there is a more dreadful fate awaits the ones who failed to do so.
The Demon Prince is a good example.
THE THING THAT HAPPENED IN THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL STARTED
LIFE. That is the thing that happened in the place where it all started. It happened when the Demon Prince is born.
With life come questions, test, quest, trials and everything. People of Wisdoms, a long extinct (maybe some of them still roams the Mine) have always thought People of the Stars (another name for the inhabitants of Mine) that life is a normal thing.
It makes us grow - they say. But then, one should be careful and know that with life comes this little thing called CHOICE.
It defines how you grow.
To the Whites, growth is paved with choices that are physically logical.
To the Blacks, growth is built from choices that are illogically physical.
To the Greys, growth is paved and built from the choices that are illogically logically intangibly physical.
To the Son of Agnus, he is simply confused.
One can never live life with out enduring the divine doctrines of the Mortals.
Be what race you may, born in what manner you are, die in what ever faith you hold, every single step you take will have to be taken with the doctrines of the Mortals.
One step not in that path paved by those who have lived eons before you do, you would be very much an unwanted outcaste.
To live in this life in Mine, you have to have sturdy hands and more than a stabilize stance. Life in Mine means war - endless battles that rage from outside to within to the outside of one's being.
The Doctrine of the Mortals Dictates -
None shall be above the ones who are above.
None shall be better than the ones who are better.
None shall ask from the ones who ask.
None shall be different from the ones who are the same.
None shall say none of what the other none’s have said.
None shall be allowed to be allowed by the ones who has allowed.
None shall be the taker but only the giver.
None shall ask to be given unless one is the taker.
None shall be allowed to own other than be owned.
(There are a few other phrases of this doctrine but I am just to fucking lazy to elaborate - it's the right of the narrator)
To disobeyed these doctrines would mean to one is declaring war to the whole population of Mine, all three of the major tribes - the Whites, the Blacks and the Greys.
To live life in Mine, one should belong.
The Life in Mine has set that one social status should be mark by the many Robes of Self worn.
Most common, is the Robe of Lucre, which is usually worn on top the Harlequin of Hundreds and Pantaloon of Pompeii.
This robe is worn by almost everyone living in Mine, be it the Whites, Blacks or Greys, the colorings, weaves and design might differ, but still it is known by the same name.
By wearing these garments (a few other will be mentioned some where through out this tale), you are entitled to act, speak, react, retort and/or state what ever it is that you are thinking of or wanted to do without having fear of any one smack your bloody face. It is the parts and parcel that comes with Life.
With Life comes a war that leads to battles.
Each and every one should take sides or most importantly you become the Side. The Master of None as the Book of Ages call them some one one third of a millennia ago.
Those who does not do this, would be known, without any what so ever prejudice as Nara-Heian Serfs - Ronins of mine.
Nara-Heian Serfs are only good as a Yojimbo - expendable creatures for hire for the Mercenaries of Aviditas.
Their skills worth millions but their lives worth none.
That is the ultimate Curse of Life if one fails to acknowledge Life.
THE PERIOD WHEN THE THING THAT HAPPENED IN THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL STARTED HAPPENED
For something to happen somewhere, it must happen in a time frame. If it does not happen in that particular time frame, that it simple never happened.
Currently, will happen, had happen - are the most common phrase use to describe this, and if we use never, i.e. never going to happen, never is or never has/have, it simply shows that it did not happen.
Confused yet? Well I, the narrator, am.
Time is a strange but beautiful thing. It hurts and it heals. It destroys and it built.
Life that happened in Mine happened during the last 31 cycles of the season ago and up to the moment when the Forgotten One - Man's Path Master Dealer, decide time os no more for the child of Agnus.
If this period of time is broken into stages, you wold have the period of purity - a time of learning for the Demon, the period of twilights - the siries of time where the Demon tasted both the sweetness of the Biles of the Book and the sourness of the Sweetness of Sins, the period of Sunlit Night - the period when the Demon travels the planes of Mine as a living dead, and, the Period of Knowingly Unknown - th period of time where what will happened is known but could not be expected or determine.
One similarity all four period is that, the Demon becomes both a tutored master and mastered tutor.
A tutored master is a grand title to show how ignorant, stupid and shallow minded a master is.
A mastered tutor is a grand title to shoe how ignorant, stupid and shallow minded a student is.
With life come emotions that bind us to the Dungeons of Flesh that kept us away from the Path of Passion that leads to the Realization of One.
Realization of One. It is a place where every and each one of the citizens of Mine lived happily. There you have neither fears nor worries as one has come to ones Eden.
For the Demon Prince, the celebrated Child of Agnus, this is a far, far, far away place. Each and every time he come close to it, the Chains of Emotions is tugged so violently that he falls and kisses the dirty bricks that make the dungeon floor.
A constant reminder that he is a slave to many masters.
Masters that he could not run or leave - no matter how much he tried.
These are the masters that hold and used the only weakness that he has - his human side.
For eons of ages (not that long ago - heck! The demon is only 31 cycles of season old) ago, the Demon has undyingly tried to break the Chains of Emotions. He wanted; no he longed badly to be free.
But, as it is the most honored Rule of Mine, nothing is without a price; the Demon would have to pay dearly for this.
A price that comes with a question - can the demon Prince afford it.
To be free, he has to pay with his human side.
To be free, he has to bare the Curse of Death.
To be free, he has to be entirely without life.
To be free, he has to be a Demon.
To be free, he has to poison the Parents of Passion.
An expensive price it is...
THE BEINGS INVOLVED AT THE PERIOD WHEN THE THING THAT HAPPENED IN THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL STARTED HAPPENED
A play would not be one if it has no one actors and actress. There should be heroes and villains, antagonist and protagonist, heroines and that lady who played the evil stepmother or those two ugly ladies who played the evil step sisters.
Every play should have at least one actor.
Every one in a play has at least one role. Every role, no matter how insignificant, is important. Every role interconnects, inter-dependent and interacts in the minutest sense with each other - building up plots, giving reasons and giving sense to the story being told. Just like what Newton said, for each action there will be another action reacting upon it, the characters played by the actors interacts.
Every actor will play their part(s) based on ques. Sometimes, the ques came from the director, sometimes in comes from reactions of the audiences, sometimes it comes from the mistakes or fowl ups of fellow actors.
Each and every single actor contributes to the story, negatively or positively, it does not matter. What does matter is the play it self.
In this chronicle of the Lord Demon, Prince of Agnus - the man living life half dead, there are quite a number of actors.
Let us begin with the Demon himself.
The Demon is a six feet tall, very fair complexion, muscular, very well mannered and very learned gentleman in his early thirties.
Like that description? Heck! Who doesn't?
BUT, if he is like that, then we won't have no story to tell do we?
The Demon Prince, glorified Child of Agnus, heir to the wealth of the Man Who God Hath Help, was conceived in and born from the womb of his mother, Third Child of Goodness, some thirty cycles of seasons ago as Lord Light of Lights.
He is the third of four siblings; the first be Lady Light of Our Eyes, the second - Lady Soft Light, and the fourth, Lord Light of Blessings.
In his early years, the Demon is no different than the children of the Whites, Blacks and Greys. Mischievous and merry, he is not burdened by the worries of the world.
As time pass by, exactly on the twelve year of age, The Hands Who Dealt Man's Fate, gave him the card marked with the number Zero, The Fool of Major Arcana.
The Fool of Major Arcana brings with him the kiss of the Lady Fate, Ananke.
At the age of twelve seasonal cycles, he tasted the painful sting of anger and the sweetness of hoarding vengeance, deeply carved in his heart by the jagged edge of the Bestiality of Man. On that day, his inner an outer self was hurt by one the Blue Cloth Sentries.
Till this day those wound have never really healed. Painful, yes they are, but, the Demon is grateful for them.
The same wounds that marred him, also gave live to his human side.
The day he was hurt, is the day he learnt that no matter how silent it is, parental and divine love is something as real as the beautiful sandy beaches of an eastern land.
Ironically, the hurt and the love that he tasted, also paved the rough, rocky and thorn full road that he has to journey trough.
Paradoxically, though the road is no walk park, it gave him wisdom and also stupidity.
But then, that is what we call a hell of a learning curve.
Come the second ten of his growing years, The Fool of Major Arcana again visited him, this time with a friend, the White Winged Lady of Temperance of Major Arcana.
Together, they bring him another set of lessons along with them.
The Winged Lady brought sickness to the Demon's father. The Man Who God Hath Help temporarily lost his ability to work, forcing him to ask for excuse from The Guardians. Worried that this situation would worsen, the Demon's mother, Lady Third Child of Goodness, was forced to embrace a very difficult decision - she left the Glorified child of Agnus under the caring of his brother, Little Man Big Heart, to enable her to care for her ill husband in the Land of Mud.
At first, the Demon perceived this as a very cruel and unjust decision, as Little Man Big Heart - though caring and loving (a fact that the Demon realized over time) - was as strict as a war harden general.
Under the care of his uncle, the Demon Prince learnt the importance of independence. Though those lessons seem to be self thought, it is in essence the work of his uncle to prepare him for the trials of life.
It also thought him, to unconditional love can only be achieved with only hard-to-make decisions.
It made him realize, if, his mother did not make that choice that she took, the Demon would never have a father, and, might be put in path taht should not be taken by a being called man.
It also gave him the wisdom that, no matter how hard and difficult it is, and no matter how distanced a father is seem, he would willingly swallow them just to ensure that his children have a good life, no matter how small.
All those made the Demon, a child, a man and a father.
All that made him realize that even if god asketh him his life, he would only give them when those whom he called family have safely been put on the plushest of beds and pillows after the sumptuous of food under the coziest of rooms in the most grandest of homes.
All that made him vowed, for even the tiniest drop of tears that fall from their eyes, he would asked it to be paid by blood.
All that made strengthen his stand, that no matter how hard to control, shall be his greatest possession for the beast is indeed a good friend in times of need.
Enter the princesses.
The princesses are beings of haven that decides to touch the rotting heart of the Demon Prince.
Over the thirty cycles of his half dead existence, the Glorified Child of Agnus have had the chance to be graced by seven beautiful princess.
All of them have thought him about the treacheries of truth, lethality of lies, sweetness of sins, pleasures of pains and pains of piety.
Though six of them have long left his physical being, one oddly remains and silently sires his heart.
She sired his heart along side the only princess still with him.
The former is known by the name Princess Light See Ha, the later, Princess of the Learned Tree.
The relationship that the Demon has with both of them is some what ... odd.
Both of them are, though it seems not to be, are the same with the Demon. Though he love them very much, to be with both of is more than a painful experience.
It's like a war between two brothers, in the battle; each would swing their weapons of war so vigorously and seem to want so much for the death of another.
But, after hurting each other with wounds that would make even the heartless Angel of Death wimps, both will sat down and muttered love for each other.
But then, if ever the wounds have healed, they would again put themselves on their warring stance and the cycle continues.
The Demon love the princesses, Princess Light See Ha - though she is no more, and Princess of the Learned Tree, with all his heart.
He loves them both that it killed him.
Emotionally.
Making him dread the thing the poets call love.
Making him long for it.
Making him lost.
Enter, the Jester, merry maker for the kings, son of a befallen lord, husband to the lovely Maiden of Mannequins.
A tall handsome man as young as the Demon, The Jester descent from the bloodlines of Kings. Even though he projects an aura of unhindered strength, deep inside he is a man filled with kindness and love.
Both of the Jester's and the Demon's paths crosses some twenty cycles of seasons back.
Both of them came from Kings and Queens whose linage traces back to the oracles of haven.
Both of us were brought up with great love and great wealth befitting inheritors of kingdoms.
Both were sent to the greatest of wizards to learn the greatest of knowledge.
But even all that love, with all that wealth and with knowledge, both still have to bow to masters of different kingdoms to earn their keep.
Jester, even though he is of blood that flows down from haven and the Master Dealer through the masters that he served has been showered with great wealth that is beyond the imagination of mere peasants, is laden with unhappiness.
This has been the case even after he has be wedded the beautiful Maiden of Mannequins.
Though unspoken, both him and the Glorified Child of Agnus knew that the source of this unhappiness in existence lays in the fact that both chooses to walk in the path of Dignified men, rather than the Path of Peasants as intended by the Master Dealer.
Both, knowingly unknown, put the might of men before the might of haven.
The Jester embraces the might of men arms and believed that only with these two hands that man's destiny is built.
True to certain extend.
The times when the two met, the Jester and the Glorified Child of Agnus would spar using their swords of Broken Faith.
They spar just to prove to each other that one's believe is above the other.
Whatever the outcomes of these bouts are, they (at least on the part of the Demon) always knew that they love and respect each other as brothers do.
But, as time passes by, they grew apart, making the Demon Princes sad beyond words can tell.
Till this moment of time, the half dead is doing more than his very best to mend this and endless hope that haven will give him back this great friend.
Jester, Lord of the Beloved.
Enter the King, Pauper Lord of the Blacks.
The King and the Demon have been friends since both of them were very young. Their friendship is one made by chance, when they were put together in the Halls of Befallen Scholar.
Back then, the King, a small dark and muscular man, was a pauper. Though he has neither wealth nor looks, he is the owner of a good heart. Never once during their friendship, the Demon fails to see the King willingly and with out any question help those indeed though he is in need.
If one to look closely at his hands, one could see how hard and coarse his palms are - telling the story of hardships that the King endure although his entire life at that time to seek fortune - not for him but for his family, and later, for his wife and children.
He has toil and been tested with so many trials that whenever he has the time to meet the King, would be very humbled and made realize that one life would only be changed by god only when he work relentless hard to change it.
Changed has the King life is.
He is among the titans of Mine now, but, his heart remains as innocent and as pure as the first snow flake that falls to earth.
But then, he has one small flaw. He is a Black.
Though he believes in the power of haven, he also believes in the power of pagans.
Though his heart is pure, his soul is lost.
Lucre became his lower deity.
Along came Mamak Bendahara, the lost White.
Mamak Bendahara or the Royal Adviser in this language that we use, is of the blood of Soul Sages. He was adequately train by the White Mage of the Order of Seasoned Skullcaps, and, still is adequately knowledgeable in its teachings but not in practice.
If one to seek the meaning of beauty, than the time when the demon first met the Mamak Bendahara would best suit that definition.
He first saw him during one of the five daily compulsory visits to the Temple of the Forgotten.
There, he saw Mamak Bendahara leading a line of Greys, worshiping the Unseen Deity. He has the face that defines calmness, purity.
That sight of him brings tears to the Demon's eyes, humbling him and reminding him of the divine love of the Master Dealer. He knew then and he vowed that no matter how hard he would make this man his immortal friend.
And true enough, it is hard...
Some few years back, four to be exact, The Prince Who Rides on a Swift Chariot Wielding a Sword, pulled by a black and white sphinx from Major Arcana visits the Royal Advisor and plague him with the thirst of inflexibility, success, wealth and recognition.
Since then, the Demon could only watch as the plagues changed him little by little to what he is now - a lost white.
Things becomes sour for both of them due to this sickness, but, no matter how bitter they are, the Demon could not find anywhere in his heart to leave the Mamak Bendahara.
The reason, oddly enough, is very simple.
He has never stopped believing that there is still a speck of purity in the lost White's help. The man he saw at the Temple of the Forgotten still lives inside the Royal Advisor heart, weakened.
If ever the Demon abandons him, that man would surely die.
Then there's The Others.
These The Others, are the daily warriors, merchants, mentors, sages, necromancers and the rest of the dwellers of mine (exclude family).
Out of all of them, one sect in particular should be dealt with the utmost of care.
The Warriors, especially Warriors of Corpus.
These warriors are highly skilled assassins, especially in the arts of the Hidden Carnis Rosea, which can kill even the strongest of man so subtly.
Under normal circumstances, these warriors are gentle people as the manifestation of another skill that they have mastered - the Secret Way of Dexterium Invidiae.
The Warriors of Corpus respect everybody that is somebody to nobody. Their loyalty is up for sale for the highest bidder, though under one standing condition, the gain greatly from it.
To have a save journey, other than liaising yourself with the Whites, you'd better be friends with these warriors.
You are guaranteed to have a very safe and prosperous journey, just as long you remember not to step on their shadow's toes.
THE REASON WHY THE THING THAT HAPPENED IN THAT PERIOD OF TIME TO THE BEINGS INVOLVED AT THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL STARTED TO HAPPENED
Nobody really knows why the thing that happened in that period of time at the place where it all started to the beings involved happened.
Every single living thing has squeeze the grey matter dry trying to figure out this big enigma. Many have fail and become insane in their attempt, quit a number have miserably fail to do so and a significant amount of souls lost even after so many efforts made to seek the answer.
But, there are few survivors.
The Demon, on the other hand, is still in dark. He has been so for so long.
Often, he ponder that how much easier it would be just to let this curse of a thought go. However, no matter how hard he tried, this question would come swinging hard back at him, and each done it happens, the swoosh is more violent and the stay is longer.
Intense insanity, fracturing failures and limping lost, all of them the Demon Prince has tasted, but never, serinity.
So many times has he asked the Great Sages, Necromancers, Wizards, Witches, Soothsayers, Clairvoyants and Preachers for it but all remain the same, back at the place where he had begun.
One thing though, he knew that the answer is in the form of a question - why must all this happened?
The resounding answers -
Why must you ask?
Because I want to know, why don't you let me know?
Why do want to know?
Because I hate being in this extended darkness.
Why must you be in this prolonged darkness?
Because you still haven't told me why do all of these happen!
Oh when will you learn?
The demon has no answer for that. The Demon has no answer for anything.
END FOR AN OVERDUED INTRODUCTION
For what have i mentioned and wrote, is all the things that the besotted the Half Dead - Demon Prince, Child of Agnus.
They are and will be the chronicles of the being once known as Lord Lights of Lights.
All is and as what I have witnessed happening to the Demons-In-Me who lived in the world called Mine during his current existence.
I, the narrator, could give you no answer if you were to ask why, when, where or how does his journey stop.
But, I could tell you who will who will stop it.
For now, this is how the story end - as a beginning to another end.
- ending of a beginning, starting of an end -
